Bank account closures

Re: Bank account closures

I think the gentleman who suggested there might be a deal when we leave the EU should look for flying pigs when he ventures out.
Johnson's agenda is "my deal or no deal" and the EU will not be bullied.

I voted to stay, to those who voted to leave welcome to the world of consequences.

I didn't say I was anticipating anything, just that were there a deal it might go away.

Anyway, this thread is about banking consequences, not peoples views on Bojo and Brexit. Please stick to the point.

If you are going to talk about some banks closing accounts it is hard not to mention Brexit.

But it said that Barclays and Lloyds have decided to close accounts and have written to the clients affected.

This is not correct
Barclays have emailed me to say they have not and are not closing bank accounts of UK nationals that reside in Spain and only have a Spanish address ,

This is the article I referred to in my earlier post, which was in The Independent Newspaper.

I suggest people read that before making a judgement.

We have been informed by Barclaycard that our account will be closed in November.

Barclaycard credit card? It's always been in their T&Cs that you need a UK address although they have turned a blind eye in the past.
What about a Barclay bank account?

I am sorry Mr Stokes, but if anybody mentions "Brexit, Deal or EU in the same sentence i'm afraid I get somewhat agitated, or perhaps you did not lose 20% of your income overnight.

This is a forum and I would assume that all opinions are legitimate even those we don't agree with.
Regards.
