Betting App advice needed.

Hi, I'm trying to run my Sky bet app here in Spain.
I've installed a VPN on my Samsung phone but the Sky bet App will not work as it still knows I'm away from UK.
Tried several things and also turned off my phones location but the Sky bet asked me to switch it back on.
Anyone have any advice or help.

You need to set the VPN to a UK server.

But still no good. The Sky app asks me to switch on my location which then stops me from opening the app.
Maybe another VPN would be better. Any recommendation's.

well actually thats notnecessarily true, depending. The difference between a VPN (which sets up an encrypted tunnel to another server and then proxies that server to fetch data using its IP, and send it back you down the encrypteed tunnel, making the traffic unreadable to you ISP) and merely redirecting you own IP by using a DNS server other than that provided by your ISP. In the latter case there is no encrypted tunnel and your ISP can still intercept and log your traffic.

The difference is do you want your ISp to read your traffic?.The location ID is in either case is deduced from the IP allocted by the nearest DNS server. An unencrypted connection obviously runs faster because is not having to encrypt the traffic and its one layer less of software.

There’s so many things wrong with what you’ve just said that I’m not even going to waste time on trying to them.

The biggest issue with VPNs is that you’ve no idea where your data is going. Many free VPNs store and log your data and sell it to the highest bidders. Any plain text usernames and passwords can be used to crack the SSL encryption on your other data. Not an issue if the only data going through there is IPTV data, but certainly an issue if you’re putting betting, banking, online shopping info through the VPN.

As a former IT professional, I’d NEVER use a VPN. Smart DNS Proxy work very well and has none of the drawbacks of VPN.

By logging in via the skybet web site rather than the app. Had my VPN running too.
The hard bit done now the easy bit, picking some winners (I wish).
