You have a point but, would tourists be happy with 30% of a terrace open until 6p.m.? No, they'd want more and, the relaxations to give them the Spain that they desire, mightjuat see an upsurge in cases.
Also, there is more to tourism in Spain than just the British. Sometimes that's hard to believe reading this forum

You’re right glassfull but this is basically a British forum, but are there any restrictions from travelling home owners from France ,Germany,Belgium Netherlands etc,if not what is the point of stopping Brits, iknow it was so called SA & Brit variants but they’re all over the place now,It may be wrong but I read this morning they found only 12 cases of SA variant in UK yesterday. I suppose we could always make Brits. Wear a bell round there necks & a sign saying unclean.

Glassful, me thinks you’re not from the U.K. and have a distaste for the British. It’s just a notion I have but I suppose I could be wrong!

I believe it’s meant to be 50% and as that and the closing time has not yet been finalised all is conjecture

17th May was the date given by Boris yesterday about foreign holidays.
But none of theat really matters, because until the Spanish government lift the ban on only Spanish Residents and Citizens allowed into Spain no one will be going to Spain.
So, If you are flying out on the 28th April and the Spanish Govt have lifted the ban by then to none residents and citizens technically I suppose you could fly, particularily if you are a home owner.
You could argue you are travelling to Spain to check on your property, and not going on a Bucket and Spade holiday to Benidorm.
It's all If's, Buts and Maybe's.
But as I see it, the majority of people on here, who are owners, will be going nowhere until the Spanish Government allow non residents in to tend to their properties.
As for the Bucket, Spade and Buggy Brigade, they will have to wait until at least May 17th before they can leave the UK
Can someone advise me on something I am missing. Currently the Spanish government will allow you to enter the country with a Padron, proof of home ownership or even proof you have an enrolment on an educational course (as stated on the gov.uk website).
Now if the Spanish government are allowing you to enter and airlines like Ryanair are flying (daily flights are bookable now from the 2nd May) how is the UK government going to stop you. They say travel is banned but how will they prosecute those who defy the law.

I don’t think anyone will be prosecuted if you decide to leave the country. In truth, if your travel insurance covers you which is doubtful but you’d need to verify before going or you’d be leaving yourself vulnerable if you had an accident.
On Sunday , hundreds of people got into their cars and drove to the North coast here in NI for a day trip. We have been told not to travel further than 10 miles so presume everyone was from an area within that distance ! I’d love to have been there but my other half is very law abiding and refused to take me ( gorgeous sunny warm day). I don’t honestly blame any one for wanting to do something different. We are all reaching the end of our tether and want out! People today have disposable income and are so used to going out to wine and dine, take weekend breaks , travel abroad and more so it’s clear that the need to go somewhere us driving us all crazy. Once you get there, there’s nowhere to go to do you can either park the car and watch people walking along the promenade or walk the 3 mile Sandy beach. None of these activities should cause anyone to catch Covid 19 so no harm done
People have been travelling over to their holiday homes and reaching them too. Like others, I know of some but not from here. Now think about it, you take a covid test before flying, wear a mask on the aircraft, land, passport control, collect their car, drive to their property. Keep to themselves while in residence. What harm are they doing? Probably doing less than natives and expats.
Very shortly countries will be relaxing all rules and restrictions and the movement of people from all over Europe with begin again. We should be rejoicing instead of moaning. Life can’t stop forever unless you die. Life is for living and we, as a people love life and will soon be living the dream again.

News yesterday, looks like the vaccine stops you carrying it and passing it on to someone not vaccinated. That is wonderful news !
A game changer in fact.
