Brits in Spain and possible repercussions if we leave the EU

The European economy is in a terrible state. Just look at the levels of unemployment at 25% and nearer 50% with young people.

Why would the UK want to attach itself to a European corpse.

My money is on a big majority vote to leave......and if that's the case I can't see Cameron surviving much beyond June of this year.

That unemployment rate is in Spain, not the EU. I agree the Spanish economy is bad but only with the southern european ones. Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, France and others seem to be doing fairly well. Overall unemployment rate in the EU is around 10%. Spain's unemployment rate drags that figure way up.

It also seems this referendum is going to be decided on who can engender the most fear in the voters. In side says unemployment will go up, the pound will collapse, tariffs could be introduced, freedom of movement will stop, healthcare will stop and so on.
Out side says immigrants will flood the country, the EU needs us more than we need it, we can cut the trade defecit and so on and so on.

You pays your money and you takes your choice.

Spains unmeployment rate could be reduced considerably if they didn`t charge as much social security. UK will still want BMWs until we replace them with our Austin Allegro`s.

The bookies are offering pretty long odds on a big majority to leave. You can get 2/1, just for there being a majority to leave at all. There's a lot of people in the UK, that are not saying a great deal, who are not willing to risk the "great leap into the unknown", to quote Cameron yesterday.

The reason a lot of people are not saying a lot on this subject and why there are so many undecided voters is that we haven't had a proper debate on the subject.

The media is not handling things at all well. They are asking stupid questions, reporting in a biased fashion and prematurely asking people which way they will vote.

I'm already sick of the ridiculous press coverage and we have nearly 3 months to go to voting day.

I'm going to book a long holiday in south America where hopefully there will be virtually no media coverage.
