That doesn't explain why some people complain when their "local" branch closes.

We have experienced three Quesada banks over the last ten years, Sabadell, Santander and Caixa. Although by no means perfect we found Caixa are the best of this bunch but Wise are excellent.

Re the advice to use Wise, I don't think you can pay tax to the Hacienda other than by Spanish bank account, willing to be corrected though.

My husband moved to Wise and can now breath a sigh of relief. The number of times that he couldn’t access online were all too many. The many charges and difficulty in making a personal contact with the bank. All in all, it was causing him stress which he certainly didn’t need. Transferred everything to Wise and is impressed and satisfied with the service.
If Darro is correct about having to pay tax though a Spanish Bank, use your solicitor to make these transactions on your behalf.

Have been with the Caixa Bank in its many different forms since 2008 my branch being Dolores I have always found the staff helpful and attentive. Sorting out problems quickly and to my satisfaction. But all branches are not the same. I find a simple smile and good humour always win the day no matter in which language you speak.

I’ve banked with CaixaBank for about 5 years,I’ve had good and bad experiences, I was shocked at how rude some of the staff can be. I was told they would do me a really good deal on my home insurance,I said that’s great then went ahead,it’s worked out a lot more expensive than previous home insurance we have had and we’re stuck with it for 3 years.
