Car Insurance

I am hoping to move over full time in April and wil be buying my first car in Spain

Can someone please tell me of an insurance company that is well priced and will take my UK no claims discount into consideration.

Tom I’d be surprised at any that won’t , but it’s the car not you that’s insured quite different it covers any driver permitted by you that meets the age and experience you also get breakdown cover ie towed to garage or home , it works well little wait but no real hassle in my experience

I recommend Ibex insurance based in Quesada. Michelle and Andrea look after both my vehicles. Very helpful and competitive.

I use Salts Bay, also an office in La Marina . . . Salts Bay is a Broker that primarily uses Liberty Seguros Insurance Company as the Insurer. Your UK No Claims is taken into account, but does not give you full discount, you will build up further no claims after a couple of years in Spain. Mapfre & Linea Directa are other Insrance Companies Available . .
Just a pointer, whilst full comp and breakdown cover is normally included, once the vehicle is over a certain age (10 years I think) you may have to have it inspected by them before they will cover it.
The price of 2nd hand cars in Spain is unusually high, you may be better off buying new, a new Dacia Sandero for instance is €8-€11K with low servicing, Suma (tax), no ITV (MOT) for 4 years and lower insurance usually . . a 5 year old Citroen (say) with 100,000+ Km can be €12k+ . . .
