Changing Curenergia/Iberdrola Tariff - Leroy Merlin La Zenia

Changing Curenergia/Iberdrola Tariff - Leroy Merlin La Zenia

Postby G.McDonald » Thu Sep 30, 2021 2:10 pm

Due to the recent increase in my electricity bill I decided to change tariff from the automatic one we were all put on, to the flexible 8 hour tariff.
you can choose which 8 hours of the day you want at the low rate, the hours do not need to be consecutive and can vary each day if required. There is also an mobile app so you can change them yourself as and when you need.
I visited the Guardamar Iberdrola office twice, 30 minutes each time and they were unable to change me on to this tariff, so off to the in-shop iberdrola desk at Leroy Merlin, La Zenia

Highly recomended, very helpful man there who speaks English if your spanish isn't great, done the job in less than 10 minutes, gave me an additional 20% discount and a 50.00 euro Leroy Voucher!

Tried that, but couldn't seem to sort it... but worth going to Zenia for the voucher and extra discount!

I would check the contract you have been put on as the people on the stands will say anything to get the commission, they are not Iberdrola employees

It's been mentioned on here a few times saying they are franchised counters and can con you a bit. Maybe do a search and read up on it.

Yes, that's been reported on here before. They work at several places like Habaneras but the contracts are not the Iberdrola ones and people have reported costs going up after quite a short while.

As regards the man in Leroy Merlin, please please be very careful. I have had personal dealings with this man. He said all kinds of wonderful things but the upshot was that when I go my first bill, the cost had actually increased. Giving me the "discounts" involved increasing my base tariff and adding on additional facilities eg electrical equipment protection. As a result of this I complained to Iberdrola and ultimately had my tariff reversed to the lower level it was prior to meeting this man and I received a refund of the amount I had paid in the interim over and above what I would have paid.

I have tried several times to login/download the app but keep getting a "dont recognise this email address message" is there an English speaking phone number to ring for iberdrola as my Spanish is not yet good enough for the automated message.
