Not good news From Travelmole webpage
Greece has said British holidaymakers will be allowed to visit from mid-June, but Spain says the UK's infection rate must improve before it welcomes UK travellers.

Last week, the UK was omitted from a list of countries that Greece considered to be safe, but the Greek government has now said Brits can visit.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says British holidaymakers will be tested for coronavirus on arrival into the country and if negative, will need to self-quarantine for seven days.

If the test is positive, then holidaymakers will be required to quarantine under supervision for 14 days.

Spain, meanwhile, is planning to welcome a small number of foreign holidaymakers in two weeks' time as part of a test run to re-boot its tourism business, but British visitors are not on the list.

Spain's tourism minister Maria Reyes Maroto has said that the UK's coronavirus record 'still has to improve' before the country will consider welcoming British holidaymakers.

She told Spanish media that Spanish and regional government representatives had spoken with operators including Jet2holidays and TUI about plans to re-boot the holiday industry.

But she said the UK's 'health situation still has to improve'.

"For us it is important to guarantee that people arrive healthy and leave healthy."

Spain plans to welcome foreign tourists to the Canary Islands and Balearics in two weeks' time as part of a pilot scheme. If it is approved, the country will open its borders properly to holidaymakers from July.

A bit of an update to the updates.
It wouldn't be right to allow foreign tourists into Spain if Spanish citizens and residents are still going to be restricted to moving in their own province. Plus some areas will not have moved to the next Phase so lots of bars, restaurants and shopping malls will still have restricted access and music bars and dance halls will remain closed. Add to that the beach restrictions and who, really, would want to come?

The current state of alarm ends on 15th June and the PM wants one week to be added to that but the regional governments will take control for all aspects except for mobility.

Now the government has thought about this. If provinces move to Phase 3 then mobility to travel between provinces could be brought forward to 8th June (next Monday) according to the Minister of Transport, Jose Abalos. It is something the government is looking at.

If all goes well and it is a success, then travel between regions could be approved as early as June 15th providing Phase 3 goes as planned.

The new update to the Royal Decree puts the central government in charge of mobility until June 21st but, to gain support, the government could bring these dates forward and not all provinces will have to remain in Phase 2 for two weeks but could be reduced to two.

This, of course, will depend on no significant increases to infections and deaths or the other points that are included in the epidemiological data as the inter regional mobility is being blamed on the spread of this virus through Spain. For example, the plane going from Madrid to Lanzarote which found a virus carrier on board resulting in the whole 140 passengers being quarantined and a large rise in cases in Ceuta caused by attendance at birthday parties.

The suggestions by the Min of Tran was not at an official press conference but on a news report on TV.

The actual meeting today is the Chamber of Commerce which is being chaired by the King. Most is to do with education and finances and it was reported that foreign tourism and spending fell 100% in April (pretty obvious since no one was being allowed in).

Will see if the date changes are commented on in the press conference this evening.

Thanks Marcliff, jpeg, Greece are asking that tourist be tested if negative. 7 days quarantine. If positive 14days quarantine so not an attractive option for holiday makers

You'll be pleased to know that the Health Ministry has announced no deaths from the virus in Spain over the last 24 hours.
There were 71 new cases and none needing ICU.
That's a total of 35 deaths in the last week.

Rules have been posted for the use of beaches and the distancing must be maintained which will be 4m between groups. There must also be a distance of 6 metres to the water. Rules regarding distancing, items allowed (and not allowed) on the beach will be posted and their will be no public toilets . Ball games will not be allowed.

Our community pools are open. With so few people here the rules can be kept to but we have to book a time slot by phone app (which I can't get to use for some reason).

Marcliff, regarding your communal pool, do you have someone employed full time to ensure the social distancing rule is being adhered to and to disinfect the area 3 times a day? My neighbour enquired of our administrators this morning and this is what they told him were the rules before community pools were allowed to open. It means ours remains taped off.

Our admin lot have said that with the small amount of people here at the moment, even if everyone turned up together it wouldn't exceed the capacity but we do have to book a time slot in advance. I think one of the committee will come round now and again to check on distancing but tapes will be laid measuring out the areas and stickers to show entrance and exit points.

If it does get busier at the end of the month, when travel may be allowed, the lifeguard service have said they can keep the distances.

Yes, the pool maintenance crew said they can do the disinfecting at the laid down periods. The pool, the pool area and the showers. We have no communal loos.

Thank you. We don't have a lifeguard nor a pool maintenance crew, just an outside company who come once a week to clean the pool so a totally different situation. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what the next phase brings. At least I have a paddling pool in my garden :D

Well, we do have a fair few pools on the complex with their own area, 7 I think.

However, your paddling pool.

Real Decree 463/2020 as amended by BOE SND 111/2020 states:
In all phases of the de-escalation to a new normality, the use of private paddling pools, whether for children or adult use, will not be used in private gardens to avoid the spread of the virus throughout the household.

Actually, no it doesn't. I'm only kidding, honest
