The extra restrictions in Valencia City will be lifted as of midnight tonight. This is due to the reduction in cases by 22% over the last two weeks.
The other restrictions in the Valencia Community will continue to apply until September 29th and will also apply to Valencia City.
The number of cases per 100,000 in Valencia City is still high at 117.2 but a considerable reduction from the 198.79 on September 3rd. The rate per 100,000 in the Valencia Region as a whole is just over 32.
As a comparison, the rate per 100,000 in Madrid has been 772 in the last fourteen days.

Many thanks Marcliff, great news, it shows we're heading in the right direction.
Would you mind explaining the extra restrictions that end tonight and those that end on the 29th?

Sorry about this but the previous restrictions announced in the Valencia Community have been extended by a further 3 weeks from Monday. They will now last until October 20th (midnight 19th) and the restrictions on openings, smoking, social distancing and so on will continue.
Whilst the Valencia Region is now the least affected in the country with 43.7 cases per 100,000 in the last 7 days (around 30 if Valencia City is not included) the dept of Health said this situation may change and we must be on our guard against any further outbreaks.
The restrictions in place are nationwide and the Minister said there were no plans to ease the restrictions on night life until the experts advise and agreement is reached with the heads of the other autonomous communities.

An interesting week in Spain with this pandemic. Been very interesting watching the various heads of sheds on News 24 and La Sexta.
Back when we were in the state of alarm which ended on June 21st, the heads of the autonomous governments were complaining that their autonomy was being overridden by the central government at La Moncloa and that health matters were a devolved issue. The "new normal" returned the decision on health matters, including CV-19, over to the regional governments.
In Madrid, the number of cases, deaths, hospitalisations and ICU admittances has risen rather sharply this month. As a consequence, the central government told the Mayor of Madrid to go back to full lockdown and stop all movement between areas. The Mayor has refused but has increased the number of areas in lockdown from 37 to 45. Not good enough and the central government is threatening to stand down the Madrid government and take over the running of the measure to handle the virus. The Mayor also appointed a new head of the covid plan (a well respected epidemiologist from the Madrid Centre for Tropical Diseases and the University of Madrid) who resigned after 2 days in post because she wouldn't take his recommendations on restriction of movement.
Madrid has had several demos over the last few days. One demonstrating against the loss of rights, mobility, closing of establishments and loss of jobs. Then, on the other side of the city, a demonstration calling for the mayor to follow the central government advice and go back to full lockdown. Seems she won't be able to please everyone.
The Andalusian government has called on the central government to once again take control of the situation and have the Spanish minister of health to decide on the restrictions rather than the autonomous governments. In other words, they want all decisions made to affect every region. Looks like their pleas to go back to autonomous decision making only lasted a couple of months.
It was reported a while back that the virus had been found in waste water around Benidorm. Now it is said that the lack of tourists and the closure of hotels in the area has cleared that problem and the waste water is now free of the virus.
In Murcia, where they have stronger restrictions on meetings, venues are complaining that wedding receptions are being cancelled due to the restriction on numbers being 30. They say weddings are being moved to the Alicante province where the rule is 75% capacity of the venue.
A medical workers strike is due to start tomorrow. Mainly affecting Madrid but it was mentioned that other health workers, including those from the Valencia Region will take part. They are complaining of the lack of health workers and that cases of cancer, diabetes, heart problems and so on are being neglected. They say the number of patients per doctor has doubled in the last few years and they want the regional governments to put more resources into the health system. The strike in Madrid was said to be "indefinite" but it didn't mention the other regions.
The Valencian government has told the police services to prosecute those illegally squatting in houses. It has told the police that they should prosecute the squatters under two laws. one for trespass in homes and second homes where people legitimately own it even if they are absent for prolonged periods and the law against criminal occupation of real estate which is not used for dwellings. Apparently illegal squatting has increased tremendously this year.
So, an interesting weekend on the telly and in the press.
Don't forget the restrictions on bar and hostelry opening hours plus the no smoking in the streets and other restrictions will be extended for 3 weeks as from 29th until the 20th of October

Has mentioned numerous times. The lockdowns cant go on forever and are now starting to do more harm than good.
Even one of the Sage scientists (Sage not being cranks or compiracy theorists),said on Friday that there could be a 3rd and 4th wave and it could go on for years, we need to learn to live with it, since all the lockdowns do is delay spread, not reduce or stop it.
In his own words, we need to get on with life or there will be nothing left and the world will be in tatters.
