I couldn't agree more. Except about the voting bit although this lot are the lesser of two evils.

Those hospital figures are very high in comparison to other countries with similar Delta variant figures. I feel sad for families who haven't seen one another and especially where small children and grandkids are concerned as they grow up so fast and all the funny things they do and say at the different ages. I don't think I could take incarceration in a hotel either. I would prefer to stay at home.

This is a load of made up rubbish. The Delta (what used to be the Indian variant) is the dominant strain. In the Spanish press the Beta variant is rarely mentioned.
According to the Telegraph, the Beta (the one causing concern in the rags) accounts for 2.9% of the total number of new cases in Spain. That's down from 9% last week but is being cited by the UK press as being the reason Spain could be put on amber plus or even red (how many of these stupid levels can they come up with?).
Now, I've been a Tory voter my entire life (OK, shoot me!) and I mean ever since I've been allowed the vote which is many years. The conflicting stories coming from this current lot makes me despair, really despair. Do they argue about things in their cabinet meetings and then say things to the press which is then denied by someone else?
No leadership, no singing from the same songsheet, no agreeing on anything. Such a shame the alternative seems even worse.
And the "traffic light" system must be the worst thought out idea ever. OK, Red, Amber, Green. Then they come out with Amber plus, then it's Amber watch list or Red watch list.
I really, really want to go to UK to see my grandkids. One lot I've not seen for 2 years and the other lot for 20 months. Pointless going if I have to self isolate for 10 days or, worse, quarantine in some grotty airport hotel for 10 days and pay a fortune to do so.
Unusual for me to get too het up about anything but, FGS, UK get your damn act in order!!!
I completely agree with Marcliff on so much. I was a Tory voter all my life... not now.
I too want to see my grandchildren.. they are growing up and I am missing watching them grow...
The way the UK have behaved is disgraceful... it is ruining lives... not just Covid but socially..
Grrrrrrrr

As always an accurate, measured contribution from the much respected and ever patient marcliffe. However, it has been obvious to some for a considerable time that this useless, mendacious shower, posing as a Govt are about as much use as a chocolate teapot. Hopefully the mist will clear and it will become obvious to many more.

Quite a few people around Quesada and Benijofar this morning not wearing masks (or having them around their chins) despite the fact it was quite busy.
Also at Zoco this morning, Loads of people not wearing masks. Very disappointing as it was quite busy. Can only suspect its holidaymakers.

Vaccinating kids is just mental. A age group who statistically have next to no chance of dying of covid. Not that vaccines work to stop the spread anyway as has been repeatedly stated by all the experts. My prediction is that Puig will bring in the passports no matter what. Just like France, Italy, Ireland etc.

I totally agree with you but you didn’t mention the UK who are also going to bring the passports.

Vaccination as well as offering individual protection is also a community benefit, children may not be adversely affected but can carry and spread the virus, yes I know im not an immunologist before someone shouts!

We sat at a cafe this morning at Zoco and people watched as you do. Must have been at a different time as the market was fairly quiet and lots of stalls missing. Only saw one person walking round not wearing a mask,as they actually stuck out like a sore thumb.
A lot of the market traders seem to have abandoned masks, though they did pull them up when a customer approached

But kids will age and become adolescents then, adults so, you might as well get them done now.
