On the contrary the hotel/restaurant industry is one of the key lynchpins in the economy of the Comm Valenciana, and more especially Alicante Province, both in employment and revenue. It is unfair comment to say they are only paying lip service to the regulations. Any of the restaurants we were in during the last 2 weeks and we visted quite a few were applying all the regs. They see that a lot of the supports are being earmarked towards the hotel industry and very little coming their way. They see no coherent opening up plan and a summer season ebbing away.

The interdepartmental meeting to announce changes to the restrictions in the Valencia Region was scheduled for today but has been postponed until Monday which is when the current restrictions end.

It would appear they will relax the opening hours of bars and restaurants but will maintain some restrictions until October 9th (Valencia Day).

Sr Puig has again mentioned the covid passport for restricted access to some establishments but has met opposition from the hostelry groups as they say it will cause big queues at entrances.
The Valencian Min of Health hinted that establishments could decide on whether the passport is required but those not taking it could see their premises retain the current restrictions. Those organising big events are in favour as it would mean the restrictions on everyone being seated 1.5m apart could be lifted if they show they are double vaxxed.

Hopefully all will be revealed on Monday. Sr Puig and Sra Barcelo have a history of coming up with different viewpoints.

I would presume they are hedging their bets until the 90% vaccination figure. After that it will probably be just masks on public transport and supermarkets and public facing businesses and everything else will see all restrictions dropped. I presume around end October. As for Puig and Barcelo not being on the same page, Monica Oltra the Vice President seems to be on a complete solo run with her proposed €2 tourist tax. She didn't even inform her own party that she was going to announce it
One can only assume she is completely divorced from reality. A real vote getter for her in Alicante Province ....not

The interdepartmental meeting on covid restrictions in the Valencia Region has ended. Sr Puig is talking in the Valencian Cortes.

All the restrictions on government workers and offices will end on October 16th and all personnel will return to the offices.

From October 4th, all health centres and outpatient clinics will return to face to face appointments and normal working hours.
Due to the drop in accumulated cases in the Region (down to 50 per 100,000 which is the low risk level) most restrictions will either end or be modified. The Region has almost reached 90% of over 12 year olds having both vaccines.

The limitations on hostelry opening hours is lifted and bars and restaurants may now open during the times of the licences. The capacity inside is raised to 75% and bar orders will be allowed but customers must be seated when consuming food and drink.

Night club restrictions are also lifted and discos etc may now open until 5am. Dancing is now allowed in designated areas and, again, capacity inside is lifted to 75%. Bar service will be allowed but consumption must be when seated.

Restrictions on attendance at sporting events is lifted but the capacity is still 60 percent in open air stadiums and 40% in closed stadiums. The restrictions on cultural areas such as museums, cinemas and theatres has the previous capacity limitations scrapped.

Mask wearing is a national policy and the requirements in place will be maintained.

The above are in force from Tuesday 28th September until 9th October when they will be reviewed.

There will be a further meeting on Wednesday when the matter of the covid passport for entry into establishments will be discussed with leaders of the hostelry groups.

The BOE will be published later and I will check if any other restrictions have been modified or lifted.

Thank you marcliff. I’d be interested to hear, if the numbers seated at a table, inside, has been lifted above the current eight.

Thanks Marcliff. The office workers didn't get much notice! There are a few contradictions in that they say restrictions are lifted for attendance at sports events and then they restrict capacity. Why bother with covid passes at this stage. It doesn't make sense as I am sure the restrictions for bars and restaurants and everything else except masks will be gone by end October.

Tables inside are up to 10 people now.
Swimming pools, gyms, banquets etc are now increased to 75% of capacity.

Mass vaccination centres are now closed and further vaccines will be carried out at local health centres or, in the case of residential homes and invalids, by home visits.

He has now hinted the covid passport will only be required at mass events but this will be discussed on Wednesdayl

Thank you for your continued effort in keeping us informed of the changes. Hopefully the covid pass idea is shelved as they are as popular as a fart in a lift. Introduction of them in other countries has resulted in mass civil unrest and i don;t want that here.

We currently have that regulation in Ireland but the problem is you need 2 lots of I.D as I can give anybody my vaccine I.D, so that makes it very cumbersome to operate. I feel it would be of no benefit as they are going to have to open up society to go back to normal living and do away with all the paperwork. The vaccines are the key and remain the key to unlocking out of the pandemic and it being stood down to endemic. All other measures are tinkering around the edges.
