Capacity in shops, supermarkets etc are cancelled. Now allowed 100% of listed capacity.
The limit on those attending sporting events except for professional football and basketball is lifted. For the latter, it is 60% outdoors and 40% indoors.

It would appear all restrictions relating to the Valencia Region will end on 9th October.
Sr Puig thanks all the citizens of the Valencia Region for being good citizens and obeying the rules. "Health is worth more than the cost of a beer", he said.

Whatever measures, and I know some didn't like them, have been in place, they have obviously worked.

I have obeyed all the restrictions without question.

The result?

I am still here and that makes all the rules etc worthwhile.

Well done Valencia..

I think you’ll find that it’s listening to science that is moving them forward and not, listening to sentiment.

DOGV now been published.

Reiterates that facemasks are to be worn by everyone over 6 years of age in enclosed spaces open to the public, in outside spaces where the social distancing of 1.5m cannot be guaranteed, on all public transport - planes etc - inside rail and bus stations and airports. In private cars where the passengers do not live in the same household (including the driver), at sporting occasions where the distance of 1.5m cannot be maintained either standing or sitting except for co-habitants. At public events, parades and so on.

In other words, nothing changed on the facemask side.

It also repeats the bit about only consuming food and drink at establishments and is not permitted in the streets or outside. It does say only the consumption of water is allowed outside.

Tables inside and outside must still have a 1.5m distance but is not necessary at the table of groups of 10 or less. The other restrictions on opening etc are the same as the previous post, that is, in the hours granted by the licence of the premises.
Mobile discos and amateur singing, including karaoke, are now allowed but must wear a mask. And, yes, you can dance in places licenced for it but the facemask must be worn and you're not allowed to eat or drink on the dance floor.

All forms of smoking are banned inside and not allowed outside unless a minimum distance of 2m from others can be guaranteed.

Gyms and other sporting activities, the participants must have an area of at least 2.25 square metres of free floor space. Recreational swimming pools in hotels, tourist accommodation, urbanisations etc are limited to 75% of capacity and this restriction will also apply in changing rooms and shower areas. You must also maintain a distance of 1.5m on beaches between groups.

Loads more so if anyone has any questions please post them and I'll find the relevant passage. (If you're in prison, for example).

As from tomorrow, Friday 1st October, capacity at professional football and basketball games is increased to 100% outdoors and 80% indoors.

It still says a personal distance of 1.5m must be maintained (might be a bit awkward), facemasks are to be worn by spectators and no consumption of food or drink (except water).

No absolute decision was made yesterday on the use of the covid passport to enter establishments but the Generalitat are in favour of introducing them for entry to discos, festivals and concerts. He said that, even though it looks like all restrictions will be cancelled from October 9th, the use of masks will be maintained as a general rule in the whole of Spain and has lobbied the central government in Madrid to introduce the covid passport as a Spain wide law.

The fourteen day cumulative case rate has now dropped to low risk with less than 50 (47) per 100,000 inhabitants. Valencia Region has not quite hit the target of 90% fully vaccinated with 88.3%.
Although the government announced the closure of mass vaccination centres, some towns are opening up centres on college campuses to ease the pressure on local health centres although none are listed in our area. Just one CV-19 case was notified in Rojales yesterday and 25 in Torrevieja.

As part of the anniversary celebrations, Lidl are offering free delivery until the end of October for those who require it provided the spend is over €50.

Big holiday week next week for this area. Most supermarkets will be closed on 7th, 9th and 12th October but Consum are saying they will be open on Sunday 10th from 0900 to 1430. I did see a sign in Aldi about those dates but can't remember if it said they'd be closed or have reduced hours. Anyone with more info? Carrefour will be closed on Saturday 9th October but holiday hours on Sunday 10th and Tuesday 12th.

Thanks Marcliff. Something for everyone in the audience :) Is there any appetite in the other Autonomous Communutues for the introduction of Covid Passports for entry to discos and festivals etc? Somehow I don't see Madrid being in favour of it.

Some regions have introduced the covid passport already. Galicia for one. Other regions have tried it, like the Canaries, but have been rebuffed by the courts.
Andalusia are currently going through the courts.

Puig has also said that the covid pass for entering other establishments could be made voluntary by the bars or restaurants but hinted that capacity and opening hours could be made different for the ones that don't. That would have to be agreed by the Valencian supreme court.

Madrid has relaxed all rules and restrictions except the facemask ones. There is no limit there on capacity or at a table and the facemask one is for indoor establishments only but not in restaurants although they are recommending the 1.5m social distancing is still kept.

Spain - 17 different regions, 17 different sets of rules.

Further to the above, the Balearic Islands and Galicia have now approved the covid passport for entry into nightclubs and bars. This measure has been agreed by the Supreme Courts of the regions.

On a happier note, the Valencian Region reported no deaths with the virus yesterday for the first time since July. The number of new cases reported has also dropped and the region is now at low risk. This will enable the Valencian Region to lift all restrictions on capacity and opening hours but maintain the use of facemasks from Valencia Day on 9th October.

Sr Puig confirmed that he will be asking for all restrictions in the Valencia Region to be lifted on Saturday 9th October. This will not include facemasks as that is a national requirement. He also said there would be legal problems if the covid passport was required to enter mass events but reiterated his favour for it.

The EMA has approved the booster vaccine for those over 18. It will be down to individual countries to implement it and they recommend the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine be used. Currently, in Spain, only those with pre-existing conditions leading to lowered immunity and the elderly in residential homes are being given the booster.
