well would the French put up with a derv price HIKE. ? I think Not. what will happen all the food is moved by lorries which use derv and whats more. this increase will hit food prices well just about everything. tell me do the spanish use ADBLUE. yes as we all know refined pig pee. :text-lol: , I have a diesel vehicle. and if its looked after its more cleaner than any vehicle on the road. (here we go all the green do-gooders will slate me now :text-lol: ) also is this not that there is a mass of petrol cars stockpiled globally. so the car manufactures need to shift them (Lets THINK """). I bet if we look back at this in 10 years the story will be the same in reverse - is this why we dont see electric cars. the fuel companies. dont want it. WHY they lose millions in revenue and so would all the governments. there even laughing. at us know with free electric for your battery cars until they have you all HOOKED and then they will sting everyone. and charge massive amounts. of fees. LETSvTHINK :text-thankyouyellow:

Bet you're glad you got that off your chest.
However, you started with France and they had a hefty price rise for diesel last year and have been hit with 2 more price rises this year with more to come. Average price for diesel in France is €1.35 with plans to add extra duty to bring it in line with 95 petrol at an average of 1.45 a litre.
So, yes, the French have put up with several hikes.

Saying that, I bought a diesel a couple of years ago as we were told they were cleaner (less CO2), cut down on the refining costs and gave better MPG so were better for the planet.
Then someone discovered NOx and, all of a sudden, us diesel drivers are killing the planet instead of saving it.
Maybe the governments who extolled us to use diesel should give us our money back (the full amount) so we can buy what they now think is a cleaner car. After all, they're the ones who told us how good for the environment they were.

On my car the CO2 emission are 129 g/km. On the petrol version (same sized engine) they are 145 g/km.

If you take a look at the link I provided earlier you’ll see that the EU sets the minimum fuel duty on Diesel at €330 per 1000 litres. Spain is the only EU country that currently uses this lowest permissible fuel duty tarrif.
France has a duty of €594 per 1000 litres.
If Spain does go ahead and applies the proposed increase then it’s diesel fuel duty will be around €423 per 1000 litres, still considerably lower than France.

Interesting piece in El Mundo today. The Spanish Minister of Finance, Maria Jesus Montero, has said the diesel price rises will hit the driver who averages 15,000 km per year will see their monthly fuel bill rise by €3,30.
The tax rise will be around 38 euros for every 1000 litres.

No mention of haulage companies and taxis who will use a lot more than this. I average less than half of that (thank goodness for no more commuting) .

Most trucks have a 400lt as standard [ larger ones available to order] used to think nothing of filling up twice a day when on long hauls, for the middle east it was 800 on the unit and 1500/2000[ depending on trailer ] in the belly tank on the trailer .
