DIY plumbing advice...

Advice gratefully accepted...
I’ve taken many of these smaller water connections off, in toilets and kitchen, but this larger one on our outside kitchen water heater is just spinning around and won’t unscrew. It’s the female end into the wall.
I don’t want to damage the wall surface or the fitting - any suggestions ?

Looks like you will need to remove some of the wall surface to gain access to hold against your self when you slacken the nut.

Ahh....is there a nut sunk below surface of the wall - that would explain it !!

Didn’t think of that, because the smaller bathroom ones don’t have them - I’ll have a closer look tomorrow.

hi did you find out. this is just like my fitting in bathroom you will find the flexi hose screws into a 1/2 bsp reducer and the cement around the fitting wont allow it to come off hope this helps phil

Phil - yes, that’s exactly the problem, it’s buried under the plaster and coto finish.

Fortunately, I don’t actually need to change it (yet !), so I’ve just fitted up the heater end and left it !

I may have to return to it at some point, as the amount of limescale here is incredible....
