Dogs-children, easy choice, most dogs are behaved most children not, dogs are sitting still, children run around.

To me it's difficult to know what dogs will/wont do and hard to communicate with them. Some owners in my experience unable to see outside dog spectrum.
Good point earlier - someone scared of dogs. Do you try to address that or ignore it. Most owners don't seem to care 2 figs

Why owners think its normal to take them everywhere, even in little baskets beggers belief.
Maybe because for a lot of people there dog/dogs are all they have and there only company have you thought about that.
thought the point of going to a bar if youre lonely was to meet other people and chat,
leave your pets at home after you have walked them,
have you thought about that

A dog can attract attention from other people and then the people chat. I will always notice a dog and want to stroke it. Not so much at the moment but definitely previously before covid.

I was sat there with a friend who as lost is dogs companion ie is little sister on that date had no option to bring his little poodle out with him
Also the other guys they walk there dogs around the block after ,
they always drop in for a beer
They always ask the owner is ok to sit there for half an hour
NO PROBLEMA

The issue of dogs in bars and restaurants has nothing to do with the dog's temperament.
It is an issue of hygiene and cleanliness. One minute the dog may be sniffing or licking either its own or another dog's nether regions then it could be licking your hands and face. Then you stick your hands in the gratis crisps or peanuts.

We have 2 dogs & take them with us to many bars & restaurants but only on the terrace. When we get up to leave people often comment we never knew you had dogs as they were so good . Got to say if a dog keeps barking why not say something ? as your fast enough to come on here & complain. If I had a problem with someone doing something I don’t like they would be told there & then . As for people petting dogs & not using sanitizer how do you know they don’t carry a pocket one with them like we do ?
