Easing of Restrictions - Valencia Region

Re: Easing of Restrictions - Valencia Region

The Superior Court of Justice in the Valencia Community has ruled that the curfew can be extended after 9th May when the state of alarm in Spain ends. They have only allowed this to continue for a further 2 weeks until 24th May and not the full month as requested.

It will seem the time of the curfew will be put back from midnight to 0600. They have also agreed to limits on public gatherings, both social and family, and places of worship.

Social and family gatherings will be increased to 10 people and places of worship increased to 75% of capacity.

Hospitality venues will probably be allowed to open until 11 pm and the full list of restrictions will be announced tomorrow but the ruling by the Superior Court means they can continue to enforce restrictions.

There have been no deaths from coronavirus in the Valencian Community in this whole week. The six that were added to the total were 2 in January, 3 in February and 1 in March.

Now confirmed that the perimeter closure ends from Monday. You can now travel across the Valencia borders to another region.
The curfew will be from midnight to 0600 and hospitality venues may open until 23:30.
Outside areas can have 100% of capacity and inside increased to 50%.
Up to 10 people can now meet in both private and public areas. In private homes, the number is also 10 but the maximum of 2 families is maintained. The same exemptions for this remain in place:
Non-professional activities related to upbringing and care, such as the care and accompaniment of minors, elderly people, in a situation of dependency, with functional diversity or in a situation of special vulnerability.

• The alternate coexistence of sons and daughters with their parents or non-cohabiting parents between them.

• The foster care of minors in any of their types.

• The meeting of people with a marital or partner relationship who live in different addresses.

• People who live alone may be incorporated into another single unit of coexistence, provided that this unit of coexistence only incorporates a single person who lives alone.

Shops, cinemas, theatres, places of worship, zoos, parks etc are limited to 75% of capacity.
Physical and sporting activity can be among groups of 10 people indoors providing it does not exceed 50% of capacity but masks have to be worn.
Outdoor sports can be up to 20 people and masks do not have to be worn.
Swimming pools can open up to 75% of capacity. In all cases the social distancing of 1.5m should be maintained.
Wakes and funerals can be attended by a maximum of 50% capacity with no more than 50 people outdoors and 25 indoors.
In vehicles, the previous rules on mask wearing - more than one household - is maintained. People from the same household don't need to wear masks and all seats may be occupied.
Mask wearing, both indoors and out, remains and all over 6 years old must wear a mask. This includes entering and leaving beaches but no mask required when stationary. Masks must be worn in changing rooms except when actually showering.
You don't need to wear a mask when sunbathing on the beach or at swimming pools unless you cannot maintain the social distance of 1.5m or if there are more than one cohabiting group.

So there you go. Trips to IKEA back on for those who have had itchy feet and plenty of time to put a bedside cabinet together.

All the above takes place from midnight tomorrow until midnight on 24th May when the regional government may apply to continue with some or all of the restrictions.

One of the best things about the regional travel restrictions was the sturdy rebuttal I had to my better half's pleas to go to IKEA.

No mention of smoking being allowed on terraces again so I presume that restriction still stays as is?
One of the things I love best about Spain is having the weather to be able to eat, drink and have a cigarette at a table outside. Civilisation in my eyes.

Facemasks, smoking rules and social distancing are a national policy and will be either maintained or modified in a State bulletin, not a regional one.

The Spanish Ministry of Health is finalising a draft proposal to prohibit smoking on bar and restaurant terraces regardless of the social distancing rules.

The Ministry of Health wants to replicate the measure across the entire countryprohibiting the consumption of tobacco, electronic cigarettes and water pipes on outdoor terraces regardless of the safety distance of two metres.
For this reason, it says it is essential to “avoid the consumption of tobacco products and related products on the outdoor terraces of the bar and restaurant establishments, homogeneously throughout the national territory, and regardless of the maintenance of the two metres interpersonal safe distance.”

Also note that smoking on beaches could also come under the new rule which is currently under each Region's responsibility.

If in a public place like a bar then that's what the DOGV says. Provided the interior capacity is no more than 50% of the listed capacity then 10 people can meet up inside provided the social distancing of 1.5m is maintained.
If it's a private home then no, still restricted to two families groups.
