You are not allowed to smoke in airplanes, trains, buses, cinemas, airports, hospital grounds, shopping malls, hotel rooms, taxis, office spaces to name but a few. We are not asking you to stop smoking only to not do it in the company of people who find the smell unpleasant.
In regards to previous comments about cigarette butts over the pavement why can't smokers carry containers to hold their spent cigarettes. None of us throw our rubbish in the street we wait until we come across a bin.

Exactly my point! You used to be able to smoke in all those places but now our right to enjoy a cigarette is being eroded by narrow minded people who " don't like the smell". We can no longer smoke indoors and now you're trying to stop us outside as well. What happened to live and let live. Give me a break.
My last words on the subject as I find staunch anti smokers the most intolerant, sanctimonious section of the poulation who fail to see anyone else's preferences or rights.

Live and let live?

I have asthma and smoke really makes it difficult for me to to breath. Where is my right to breath fresh air?

I wouldn't mind too much if smokers keep it to themselves, but too many light up and hold their smouldering cigarette over their shoulder between puffs presumably to keep the smoke away from themselves an annoy others.

If you must smoke, do it privately and don't make life difficult for others.

Live and let live I say..

Exactly but apparently if we mention this we are narrow minded, intolerant and sanctimonious.
Honestly some of these comments beggers belief, it seems that we should be honoured to be in the company of these people.
If I carried out a practice in the company of people who didn't like it is it me who is narrow minded, OF COURSE IT WOULD BE.

live and let live, that seems to be a contradiction in terms when that is followed by specifically targeted reasons why smokers rights should be reduced, and then the live and let live slogan is repeated. Either it is live and let live for all or it's not.

Well it’s been a while, so I thought I would have a quick look at the site, seemingly you can’t get rid of the site once you join, so I logged on to see whats new, well to my utter surprise nothing! it’s the same old people, criticising and browbeating anyone with a question or point of view, same old - same old. There’s another site called “next door” there seems to be no critics or vile regular responders on that site. It’s where I’ve been for a while, I’m heading back. Remember folks if you post a question and you get a backlash from the resident critics, don’t respond or you will get a warning from someone high, can’t be allowing sensible people to have a right to reply to the nasty critics now can they, can’t upset the regular clic, it might affect the advertising revenues..

I'm surprised you weren't tarred with 'Nasty' or 'Troll'. I seem to be, when I offer an opinion, different to theirs.
