The International Costaleros float is made up of British, Irish, Scandanavian, Russian etc- Residentz la Cofradía Internacional de Torrevieja, "Los Costaleros de la Oración del Huerto" (Jesus in the Garden of Olives) will process on Monday night 25th and also on Good Friday 29th.

In MAY there is the romeria on the 3rd or 4th Sunday in homage to San Isidro who was a farm labourer who cared for the poor and animals & is the patron saint of farmers.
In the recorral park, the celebrations include pétanque contests, parading bands, dance shows in a large marquee, a free giant paella, children’s games & an impressive horse show.
In JUNE it's the town's main fiestas & start with the Chupinazo - a large celebration rocket - fired at midday.
But before that the crowds assemble, who have been advised by the town hall to wear swim wear, and the water battles start!
Tankers supply large tanks for people to fill their water pistols and to spray the crowd with hoses as well.
Free water pistols are thrown from the steps of the museum as well as straw hats and there is a free beer tent too.
Then as the water runs out, the mayor launches the chupinazo from the museum’s balcony followed by streamers and large beach balls while the music is turned up louder and Rojales is now officially 'en fiestas'.
And this is followed by a mascleta - loud daytime fireworks from the other side of the river.
Also watch out for the Correfoc - fire running - and Hoguera (bonfire) during June.
Then of course, the moors & Christians take place during end of June/start of July
I'll post up more info on all of them as time gets nearer.

Great I’ll be there for the May Stuff but this year we have to leave 7th June. Giving us only 52 days We then return September, October and November! 90 days..
we are hoping next year to change that for Last week April, May June 3 weeks July. So 90 days then last week October November and 2 weeks December again 90 days, we do miss so much with the Schengen rules..
Ideally I’d like May June & July 90 days.. September October & 2 weeks November 75 days and February & 2 weeks March 42 days.. but it’s too long..27 days too long.
Actually I’d love to come and go at will.. I think all those in retirement should be able to do that, it harms no one.

If you don't mind a journey..Caravaca de la Cruz for the running of the horses 1st Monday in May (?)..is spectacular...you won't see anything like it locally.

Try - the Moors & Christians in Alcoy , think it’s about 20th April - I guarantee you spend the rest of your 90 days trying to get rid of confetti.
Also confirm The Running of the Wine Horses fiesta 2nd May is well worth a visit.
