Easyjet

I see easyjet are being clever but treating customers awfully.
You can only change your flight free and without fees if done 14 days before the flight.
With quarentine at less than 14 days notice, those caught need to oay fees to change flights and if cancelling lose their money.
This is why they have not cancelled any flight only bookings and claim to be running a full schedule.

We booked in January for our 5 family flights with Ryanair they also not cancelled flights on the 6th August so they also dont need to refund any money. How can we get money back if they not cancelled flights?

I don't think you can. As the FCO are advising against non-essential travel to Spain you should be covered with holiday insurance.

They made a statement to that effect shortly after the quarantine was announced but good to know it's percolated down to the web site now.

Quite correct. No charge to change a flight to another date. It also says you only have to pay the difference if the new date price is dearer than the one your cancelling. That's all well and good but what about if the flight you're having to cancel is way more expensive than the one you are changing it to. No mention of a the difference being given back. You can effect a flight change online without too much fuss but they are saying that if you want a cash credit note to carry forward, you have to do over the phone which could prove mind-numbingly difficult to get through. Its never easy these days is it?

We are in the same boat or plane as the case may be and Ryanair are only giving flight changes to the end of the year. So unless they allow you to change the flights into next year with no extra cost or a minimal charge like €30 it looks like people will be at the loss of their money. We don't have travel insurance.

I managed to go on live chat with Ryanair yesterday and the Said can move flights but need to pay changing fees and also the difference no refund or voucher. Phoned my insurance and they say it's not covered in the wording of my policy. This is really not good or fair. I would of been happy with a free flight change for next year but looks like I will have to pay but its better than loosing all the flight money let's see what the cost will be.

Unfortunately you will probably find that it will work out cheaper to do a completly new booking. Just keep an eye on next year's prices and make sure you keep deleting your cookies on your browser.
