Hiya just received a bill from Iberdrola for 38 days and it's only €61.00 which is brilliant I was dreading opening the email!

Glad it’s something you find ok, for me I’d be cheesed off. Currently pay 17eu just for standing charge, then when we are there, expect to pay no more than around 30 to 40 a month.

So maybe you’ve had a few days with the aircon on maybe. Good job you are pleased anyway, that’s what counts.

Ours averages €60 a month except in june, july and august, when we tend to use the air con in the living room and bedroom a lot, then it can shoot up temporarily to €120. Our air con costs 18p an hour to run.

Can't really see how anyone can compare electricity costs when you have no idea whether they live in a 1 bed flat or a 6 bed detached house, run a pool, inhabit it 1 week a year or 52 weeks a year, use air con in summer and winter or run their washing machine/dishwasher constantly. Pointless IMHO.

What potencia are you getting for your €17? We have similar usage costs but have a potencia of 5.75 which costs significantly more than €17.

I agree but I think cheflady was commenting on her bills after the recent Iberdrola announcement rather than looking to compare bills.

Yes, I see that. It was more those posting afterward to suggest they would be annoyed at cheflady's charges or drawing comparisons.

Whilst IVA is reduced on electricity it does seem that people's fears of significant increases have been unfounded at least.

I was charged 54€ for 244Kw of electricity for 1 month, this works out at 648€ a year for 2928KW for a year. I went on Uswitch and the cheapest was £517 a year from a company I’ve never heard EDF quotes £597, what we pay in Spain compares very favourable with the U.K. & Iberdrola is cheaper than EDF. If it was the other way round & you used your hous for 3 months of the year ( ie. 732KW/year) you’d still pay at least £18/month. I am on the 5.4KW power
