Ex Manolo's near Consum - Lo Marabu

Ex Manolo's near Consum - Lo Marabu

The 'old' Manolo's restaurant appears to be re-opening as a Spanish restaurant/Tapas bar called 'Lizarran'. There is a large sign outside the entrance facing the main road saying "Proxima Aperturer - Lizarran - Pinchos, Tapas y Mucho Mas (see photo in Gallery - Around Quesada)

Hope it does well when it opens. It will be nice to have another place to eat around the Consum Commercial centre.

Jan.

I hope they do too Joolz, the roof-terrace was fabulous. It's a very large building for just a Tapas bar/restaurant, unless they have something else in mind.

Could be Russian Sandra, it was just the sign being Spanish and the mention of Tapas that made me think it was Spanish. Russian's are probably the only people who could afford to open it at the moment. It must cost a fortune to rent & upkeep.

We are not back until September so if anyone sees it open please let us know.

Thanks,

Jan.

Lizarran is part of a Chain/Franchise within Spain. They are all over Spain including (locally) Torrevieja, Elche, Alicante and Murcia. You 'pic 'n' mix' from the hot and cold tapas and your bill is calculated by the number of cocktail sticks you have on your plate - each tapa comes on a piece of bread with the tapa held on with a cocktail stick. They trust you not to hide your cocktail sticks in your pockets or handbag!

That sounds good Maria!! Only problem we may have is my Mrs always has her own cocktail sticks in her hand bag - she says she doesn't trust toothpicks in restaurants as she doesn't know who has handled them previously!! She has a habit of using one of her 'own supply' and then leaving it on the plate. She could end up costing me a bloody fortune.

:text-lol: That's what I do, Benny.... and I thought exactly the same thing  - I take those wrapped toothpicks out with me and they are just like cocktail sticks! Maybe a couple of extra 'sticks' could be the tip! ;)

Sounds like an interesting place Maria. Look forward to trying it....First one there, give us a review please 8-)
