Recommendations please for the Spanish equivalent of self raising and plain flour
I usually get UK brands from Iceland but can’t get there with the current lockdown

This is the plain flour I have been using to make soda bread. Good flour.

There are many varieties of flour in Spain.Fuerza, Reposteria,Biscocho. However, I would recommend the make Gallo which you can get in Consum .This is an all purpose flour. The one shown above is also fine

I don’t think there is a Spanish equivalent of self raising flour.
Happy in the sun.

The plain flour in mercadona is just that, plain looking. White with blue writing. The self raising I got from SuperValu and it had pictures of cakes on it. Sorry a bit obscure but hopefully helpful lol.

All the supermarkets sell self raising flour - BIzcochos levadura incorporada. Plain flour is Harina de trigo.
Mercadona has a great selection

Generally 1 teaspoon of baking powder to every 100grams of flour a cake usually takes 15/17 grams of baking powder if you do for example sugarkaka which is 200 grams of everything (sugar, butter, 3 eggs, flour if chocolate cake then substitute 50grams of chocolate powder for flour, any other flavouring lemon etc then add as liquid) use 15grams baking powder. You can buy large 5 kilo bags of flour in mercadonna really cheap and good

I assume Gama and Johnson's in Quesada would be too far to travel at the moment because they both do UK branded self raising flour.
But if you just look for "con levadura" in the supermarkets it's fine though a bit difficult to find sometimes.

Harina bizcocho is self-raising. Harina trigo is plain.
