It has never ceased to amaze me how certain people take great joy on trying to annoy those of us who don’t live in the EU. It’s constant. It doesn’t worry me but it definitely causes distress to other people .
Whatever happens, the airlines will advise and guide us! We’ll get there in the end.
I often feel that the person posting this sort of news is jumping for joy. What sort of satisfaction does it give people to cause others distress? Like previous posters, I’ve applied for visas to enter the USA and Turkey. No big deal. It gives you something to do on a winter’s night.
I’ve been told of elderly British people selling their holiday homes because they were too scared of overstaying their allotted time.
They could easily have counted their days and stayed on.
Whatever happens, the airlines will advise and guide us! We’ll get there in the end.

Equally jpeg's link is wholly about them.

Spain does not "rely on visitors for income" although they do contribute significant amounts. That said too many grossly overestimate the portion of that income which is derived from UK visitors.Sage wrote:What's so special about Spain ? Spain relies on visitors for income.....I don't think they will go out of their way to 'shoot themselves in the foot'.
Obviously figures are skewed by COVID but to put it into proper perspective for 2021 the total number of visitors to Spain was some 36m out which around 5m were from UK.
As you say though it's not just to do with Spain but the whole of the EU.

In normal times Spanish tourism accounts for around 12% of GDP of which UK tourists would represent a not insignificant amount. Figures for 2021 are more than skewed by Covid.

Alicante Province relies heavily on tourism for its income and the British market is, and always has been, its principal market.
I am sure by May 2023 everybody will be well versed on filling out the ETIAS form.

It really is quite incredible but says more about those posters than anything else.

I wonder are they going to have a person checking everyone coming over the border by car, bus, rail and on foot into Spain as well?
