Hello, does anybody run their central heating and cook off gas bottles? If so please can you tell me how many you use? I'm told they cost about 16 -17 Euro? Thank you

Bottled Gas Prices from 17 May the regulated price for the 11 kg bottle has been reduced to 10.43€ for propane and 11.85€ for butane.
Lightweight bottled gas is not included in the regulated prices

We have the very large gas bottles, they vary from 38Kg to 40Kg, 6 of them on a changeover valve - 3 bottles on each side, they are approx 62€ each. Last winter was so mild we did not use much gas, previously we have used 4 bottles during the same period. our cooking hob is on the same supply - I think the hob takes very little - perhaps a half bottle a year, max.
The large bottles are an expensive way of buying gas, 3 of the smaller bottles prices are governed by the government, approx 3 small equals one large. · small to buy are 11€ (33€)- compared to 62 € Large.
Apparently it is necessary to use Large bottles if you have central heating, it needs the volume? (I was told!!)
(I assume the higher price is for the delivery.)

The SILVER small bottles are BUTANO not Propane as stated earlier.

Many thanks clivespana I've learnt a lot today! Also I have bought for years the smaller butane around 12 euros. The one with the roundish top and only a plastic screw on handle and combined stopper around four kgs? Very expensive way to buy the gas so I'll change it first thing.
