Ghost town

In Montesinos no music is allowed, and the effect on the bars is telling. the bars on the plaza, when music was allowed were a lot busier than they are now.

I have a property just by JR's country club and enjoy sitting in my garden , having a beer on a balmy evening while getting free entertainment !
I think that all the bars around Quesada that want to have night time entertainment should get together and sort out who's having what and when ( after getting permits and so on ) - them advertise - then those people who want entertainment will know where to go and each bar gets a bite of the cake - those who want a quiet beer will go else where .
I think the problem is not with the entertainment , it's the volume of the entertainment , sometimes including those watching it !
Just my opinion .

I live in Benijofar and fiesta is on now.
music blasts out from the sports arena until 6am! have to close all windows and put aircon on as it is impossible to sleep.
you have to put up with it for a few nights or book into a hotel lol

It is a shame there is no halfway house - with music below a certain volume allowed until say, 11.00 pm. We live about half a mile from the golf course bars and there was a time you could hear it clearly - so for nearby residents it would have been horrendous. So then the police stopped it and imposed licences, inspections etc. Some of the entertainers have been loud enough to fill the Albert Hall - which means no one can hear themselves speak - so they shout too. It's seriously bad for everyone's hearing and so unnecessary to be deafening - though it does disguise poor performers who can't hold a tune!

Maybe that's what I could hear last night beyond 3am. If so it certainly travels, as I am near La Marquesa. I'd hate to be living near it. Even during the Rojales Fiesta it was not that loud.
I'm not complaining btw, when in Rome etc.
It's a balancing act, but I'd say the majority of people prefer peace and quiet to raucous music.

Hola sometimes reading these posts i wonder what country some people are living in and do you understand the laws of your adopted country. The laws differ from town to town but if you have a bar now in most areas and you want to provide entertainment your establishment need to be sound proofed and have noise limiters fitted and sealed by the town hall and a licence issued, that licence will also only allow x number of people in to that bar any over the regulated number allowed in you can be closed down and your licence taken away. If ever one follows the law there s no problem. But if you come here and try to change it you will have problems.

I like the entertainment and live about 300 mtrs from the main st so get free entertainment in my garden. I think the problem is with those who have "loud" entertainment with no respect for the residents. Quesada is not a " tourist" spot as mentioned. If the bars apply for a licence and abide by it there will be no problems. However there is a cost to that and establishments wing it on the hope no-one complains. Abide by the rules and life will go on.
