Ghost town

What the hell is going on around quesda again another night inturupted by the killjoy police regarding music so you can allow prostituting on the side off the road and no music or gambling because it's illegal ??? Where's the logic in that the town will soon be a ghost town and people will stop coming here for a holiday because there's no entertainment

if the places get a licence for entertainment no problem, its usualy they are trying to do it on the cheap to maximise profits, for minimum outlay.you got to keep within the law in spain all too many brit bars are trying to scam there way round the needed licence, get a licence provide quality entertainment the customers will come make sense to me.dont know how you can compare roadside prostitution ,with in house entertainment!

We're not comparing it we are simply making a point! This bar actually does have a licence therefore why do the police have to enter the premises and spoil the evening they must know which bars have licences from records at the town hall!

The problem is Sammy that there are a lot residents who live in Quesada and do not want to be kept awake until the early hours by loud music. Probably some resident complained to the police who took action.

I can understand that but if you choose to live near a bar you have to expect some noise if I wanted a quiet life I wouldn't purchase a property near bars and restaurants. Also this wasn't the early hours it was around 10.45 - 11.00. we also experienced another bar being raided at 5 30 in the afternoon! In fact this is the 4th occasion in different bars that this has happened hence my original post!

Hi...for other Forum people who show an interest in this subject additional information is required. The initial post said that a Licence was held...however that licence would have timings etc attached to it...So was the music going on after a specified time...or were too many people in attendance at this particular event...was gambling involved...and of course its easy to say I have a licence when maybe you mean I applied for a licence. I frequent a bar where several music events have taken place...before each event and sometimes when the event is up and running the Police have inspected all the terms of the licence including are the fire extinguishers in date etc ...By the way these Police are the National police not the locals.

A lot of these bars were built/opened long after the properties around them so not all owners "choose to live near a bar" Also,Irrespective of if they hold a license, if someone complains to the police, they are obliged to investigate & if neccesary stop the entertainment.
By the way,i am not a complainer myself, i enjoy going to bars/clubs with entertainment on, i am just stating a point!!

I think that if noise is a problem then Quesada may not be for you. Choose to live in a tourist area then there are going to be tourists, parties, bars and yes, noise. Just saying
