I’m confused. Obviously, a Irish citizen with an Irish Passport can travel to Spain and stay within the EU rules and apply for Residencia after 90 days.

But wouldn’t a UK citizen holding an Irish Passport have it noted, within that passport, that they are UK citizens?

If that’s the case, how can they stay over 90 days and, are people fooling themselves?

It's your Passport which determines your citizenship.

It's known as dual citizenship and you can hold an Irish and a British passport at the same time. Irish passport holders are EU citizens doesn't matter where they live.

:text-lol: yea....it's a shame about the passport requirement.

Some of my best friends are Irish, I have an Irish flag, I like Guiness & Irish whisky, I got married on St Patrick's day.....I even have an Irish name......but no Irish passport.

Are you sure there is no skeleton in the cupboard somewhere or could you get an Irish family to officially adopt you :) :)

Hi sometimes the comments on here stagger me why would you even concern yourself about this if there are people there that have passed the 90 days are they doing any harm
They are spending money in the country I am sure they are not breaking any terrible laws except enjoying themselves in a wonderful country
After the year we have all have had can't we just get on with our lives and enjoy this wonderful world while we can
130.000 people in this country (uk) can't enjoy themselves anymore due to covid so stop worrying about who should and shouldn't be in Spain and chill and enjoy your lives !!!

I know someone who is well over the 90 days been here since the beginning of the pandemic !
I don’t have a problem with it but he can’t get his jab because he is trying to stay under the radar.
I do worry for him.

I know somebody who over stayed 90 days in Spain. Then flew to Thailand via Holland. The Dutch authorities told him that he could not return to the EU for two years.

I think it's worth knowing because there were people on here saying it wouldn't be enforced.
