Have beaches reopened for swimming and sunbathing?

Have beaches reopened for swimming and sunbathing?

Postby simonipswich » Fri May 22, 2020 10:25 am

Just looked at the webcams, one on the La Zenia Hotel, people on the beach and swimming in the sea; and the one in Torrevieja along the front, people laying on the beach now, some walking around and passing each other but by the looks of it with less than 2 metres between them!
It has to be larger than bacon!

They should not be doing that. I just read that in Comunidad Valenciana we the rate of new infections reached again more than 1, that means that each people with coronavirus is making sich more than a person. So we dont have less and less people sick, just opposite.

I see people is been stupid. People having fun in the terraces of bars/restaurants. Bars should get 50% or less of the poeople in the terraces. But if the goverment pushes us behind with more resctictions noone will say "ahhhhhh I should not went out that much".....

This is partly the fear in the UK with the plan to reopen bars and pubs here in July... It's simply too early. The R in the UK was 0.5 to 0.9 and it's now 0.7 to 0.9. Once it hits 1 then it is likely that those businesses opened now will have to close again. Scotland have for the moment said their pubs/bar won't reopen until December, England was lead to believe that it would be at some point in September. If they do reopen here in July, then it should be outside use only, no indoor use, plastic glasses and a self clear operation, same with food, plastic cutlery, plates etc, minimise the contact. Easy to do, table is set up, waiter comes out, takes order, person behind bar processes the order. Drinks taken out to the collection table, card machine and customer told how much, they tap and pay, then collect the drinks. Same with food, brought out and they collect. That should stay in operation until end of September. But of course, with the UK weather, sods law you order food and then the heavens open up!

The sports facility that I work in opened up the tennis courts outside on Tuesday, working well, no staff on site as they are all furloughed. Members come in just prior to the court time which is booked and paid for online. Once they have finished, they leave, it's all monitored by CCTV. No changing rooms or toilets are open. The week prior to lockdown we closed the changing rooms, sauna and steam rooms; removed bar stools and served everything in plastic glasses, takeaway tea and coffee, operated a self clear system and contactless payments only, members didn't complain.

Course once alcohol takes effect all social distancing will be out the window and problems will begin.
