Hip replacement

Not sure why Torrevieja and Vega Baja are different, because at Vega Baja who we come under if you are on the waiting list for 3 months after they agree that you need surgery you receive a letter with the option to go private of which me and my wife have taken up , my wife has had 2 knee replacements and myself 2 carpel tunnel op's and a friend of ours had a hip replacement all done private covered by the NHS and carried out at I Med very succesively with only about a 6 week wait after receiving the letter, which gives you about 6 options of where you can go. Good luck hope your not waiting too much longer. When you do get you hip done make sure you use crutches for the first month unlike a friend of ours who thought he could manage after a week without them and was driving as well , but now waddles like a penguin . The first few weeks after your op are important.

I saw the specialist within 6 weeks end of October last year she said ( looking at my X-ray) I cannot do it November possibly January ! I went in January .this year.In Tory hospital . Wonderful !!!treatment from going in to coming out ( 3days) I was asked to go to a seminare in October where they told you everything what was going to happen plus questions & answers . It is not a long waiting list once you see the specialist .
I saw the specialist 4 weeks later I walked in without any crutches , I can walk without limping . No pain killers . Cannot thank them enough . Xxx

The going rate to have it done privately in Spain seems to be €11,500. Same op in Ireland approx €14,000.

Go to the complaints dept which is by the cafeteria, there's a ticket machine so take a number. Have your complaint ready typed out in Spanish, easily done in Google translate as the lady does not speak English.
