That is NOT going to happen in our house!!
We also have a stand alone burglar alarm costing 10 euros from Amazon that we stand at the top of the stairs, it makes a very loud noise if anyone comes up the stairs at night.
It is so simple to take your bag with phone and keys to bed with you. Better safe than sorry.
Do you have a link please for the alarm? Sounds like a great idea.

I had a neighbour in the uk who took their car keys and bags up to bed with them, they got broken into and were threatened in bed with baseball bats in the middle of the night. If they want something they will do anything to get it!

Surely with some decent security grills on doors and windows it should stop opportunist burglars, but even with grills they have been known to go round peeping into open windows and using fishing rods and such like to hook things like handbags.
Saying that we have never liked grills so we have had all windows fitted with security double glazing and doors with triple glazing, all with multilocking points by Simply Doors.
We also learned the hard way .. twice.

It’s extremely rare to hear of any incidents like that around Quesada. Most crime reported is opportunist, quick in and out. As said previously the opportunist needs to be provided with the opportunity. People are particularly vulnerable around the time of arrival, moving bags in and unloading, popping out for a quick bite to eat. Never leave important or valuable items laying around.
Are you good at your job? The opportunists are very good at theirs!! You have to be sharper than they are.
Stay aware.

Our holiday home is in Torrevieja, on the La Mata side. We went to bed , locked the big heavy security gates, locked the patio window and a thief still managed to hook and steal my daughter’s handbag. Apparently, you can put your hands through the gate onto the glass and push upwards releasing the patio lock.
Bag found outside on the ground and window was open.
We drilled through the centre of the door and fitted 2 heavy duty screws which worked well for years. Door now gone and bifold door is in it’s place with a very secure lock. Key removed when door is closed and locked.

It's called a shed alarm, or caravan alarm..8.99 GBP from amazon. It comes with two remotes.
Just put batteries in and that's it. We stand it at the top of the stairs and if anyone comes within range it screams at over 100 Db... just point the remote at it to turn on and off.
It will take a brave burglar to carry on with that screaming it's head off.
At that price you could get a couple.

Yes, quite right, if they want something bad enough they will get it. Burglars can break into banks if they wish. I just don't want to make things easy for them.
I suppose If you don't want to be disturbed by burglars at night you could leave your bag outside and hang your keys on the outside of the door, that should ensure a quiet night..

I just wanted to let everyone know that these scum are doing this. The window was locked, I feel very stupid, the bag was not actually on display, they took the rubber out of the window, I couldn't understand how they had managed to get the window open. It was the Benicia Police Officer that showed me. I have since found out that they have been doing the rounds up here, so wanted to highlight this to everyone. Thanks for the tip on the Alarm from Amazon, I will defo look for that.
Thanks again and take care, stay safe, much love
