House Breakins
House Breakins
by KazFrog » Mon Jul 26, 2021 10:47 am
Good Morning lovely people of Benijofar & Quesada.
Last night my house on Monte Azul was broken into via a front window. They took the rubber seal out from around the glass then undid the window lock. They then fished my bag out of the window, which contained everything you could possible imagine. So I am now wasting the whole day having to cancel cards, calling banks etc etc. And then another few hours at the Guardia Civil this afternoon.
PLEASE GUYS MAKE SURE YOUR HOME IS SECURE. We work hard for our holidays and these scumbags think they can just do what they like.
Stay safe & Take Care
Karon

All our car keys are locked away at night and the chefs handbag is placed out of the way upstairs trouble is you are in holiday mode , leaving doors and gates open , leaving car windows open and phones left on seats and tables , these scumbags and opportunists thrive on your negligence ..!!

Wow full of sympathy aren't you!! Yes hindsight is a wonderful thing and we learn from experience but the person that broke in is the one at fault here.
I'm really sorry this has happened to you, I hope you manage to get everything sorted.

In all honesty you'd think your handbag would be safe behind a locked window, leaving it open is different.

Thanks for posting sorry for your loss.
I am always interested to see if there is a pattern of where these (insert word here) are breaking in.
I dont know Monte Azul so presume it is not Quesada.

Why do some people have to be so judgemental. I'm sure Karon has gone through enough today without then being victim-blamed. Helping others by highlighting the issue should be applauded, not derided. This forum is surely intended to help people, not abuse them.
I'm so sorry this happened and appreciate you taking the time to post the details.

I'm not unsympathetic but you have to be aware of risks regarding the low lifes who perpetrate these break ins. They sneak about looking for opportunities. The easier the better. They want to be in and out quickly.A handbag behind a locked door/window at home is the same as anything attractive to a thief left on the back seat of a locked car. It's encouragement to them.At least put stuff out of sight.

They seem to be well acquainted with double glazing. Unfortunately a lot of double glazing windows are fitted from the outside rather than the inside which makes them easy to remove if you know what you are looking for. Horrible thing to happen. camionpilot's advice is spot on like it or not.

We always take our keys and bag upstairs to the bedroom when we lock up. I have heard that thieves have broken in while people sleep, steal everything then take the house and car keys and drive off in your car.
That is NOT going to happen in our house!!
We also have a stand alone burglar alarm costing 10 euros from Amazon that we stand at the top of the stairs, it makes a very loud noise if anyone comes up the stairs at night.
It is so simple to take your bag with phone and keys to bed with you. Better safe than sorry.
