How to maintain pool for the 6 months over winter?

We have just bought a house in El Galan (near villamartin) and it has a pool. We arent planning to live in Spain until next year but do plan to come out 2 or 3 times over the summer and once at the end of october. What do we do need to about the pool for the 6 months over the winter? it hasnt got a cover - do we need to get one? Also, any tips on maintenance would be greatly appreciated. Finally, we want to buy some good quality cheap outdoor patio furniture - can anyone recommend where to buy and how much re approximate costs?

We switch our pumps off, put a cover on to keep the pool in the dark and uncover in Spring. The water is crystal clear, just shock with chlorine and use next day. Voila......

Hi you can do as above but if it turns to soup you have a big cleaning job and it takes a while to get the chlorine and acid levels right unless you know what you are doing you are better to cover to save chemicals but also have it looked after by a professional I can recommend Paul from Quesada Pool Care 0034 638 455 679 he looks after our community pool and is reliable.
