How to transfer money from UK to Spanish Bank

I have money in Nationwide and I wish to transfer it into Caixa Bank. Can anyone advise me how I can do this. Thankyou.

Open a Wise account,transfer your pounds into the Wise euro account,then either leave it there to use or transfer it into your Caixa a/c.whether you are a resident or non resident would depend on best thing to do.Also whether Caixa are charging you for your a/c

As already advised = Wise. We're also with Nationwide in UK and transfer via Wise often twice a month. We also have a Wise debit card. Transfers normally take just seconds. After years with Wise we wouldn't recommend any other exchange provider.

Do they? I transfer from NatWest to Caixa Bank fairly regularly and get no charges at either end and haven't had any for almost a year. NatWest used to charge £10 a go but stopped that for regular transfers at least May last year. Never had a charge by the receiving bank even when it was Bankia and Bancaja before that.

To the OP, if you just want to transfer from your bank online just go into transfers, select international transfers and complete the form. You'll need the IBAN (24 character number starting ES) of the receiving account and it should put the SWIFT/BIC in for you.

If you select the amount in euros and not pounds, the bank won't charge a fee but you will be at the mercy of their exchange rate. eg. Latest exchange rate is £1 is €1.207 but NatWest does the exchange at 1.185. If you put the amount in pounds they can charge you a foreign currency conversion fee.

I too have a Nationwide account in the UK. Their FlexPlus debit card gives the best rate for foreign ATM withdrawals and their Select Credit card is the same for foreign purchases. But for money transfers you won't beat Wise which I use whenever I need to make a transfer. You just transfer the sterling to Wise from your Nationwide current account and the equivalent euros (less a small Wise fee) will be in your Caixa account in seconds.
