Insurance claim

A neighbour told us we had mold in the lounge and on the stairs, Well got back to our spanish home to find mold on the walls, paint just peels off and plaster is damp. We always turn the water off when we leave but the water is turned on too top the pool up each week.

Just discovered the on the road the mains water inspection hole with an isolator valve is full of water, and after emptying the hole and turning water back on the water is flowing back from the house, called the insurance company but the first plumber did not have the equipment to detect a leak which is coming from the house (under the floor), the whole downstairs every room which is painted is the same.

Now waiting for a call on Monday from specialist, insurance has confirmed they have the claim for the leak and interior but how long does it take to locate, fix and restore the property to normal.

Any advice welcome please.

A neighbour had a burst pipe upstairs and had a lot of mould and furniture damage.
They were pretty quick to fix the cause and agree replacement furniture but restoring the property isn't quick, there's plenty of manana involved I'm afraid. If your'e not resident it can take quite a while as you need to keep on top of things, they will do repairs but to a very basic standard and at a pace to suit them if you don't supervise.
It can take quite a while for the property to dry out, damaged plaster to be removed, mould treated, plaster replaced and painted, any furnishings replaced (down to you, paid by them usually).
Our neighbours still have one fundamental repair to be done 2 years on . . .

Hopefully yours wont be as long but I wouldn't expect it to be weeks, more like Months . . .
