I would love it if people would remember and celebrate also St. Davids day, St Andrews day and St Georges day, they seem to come and go without being noticed.

Yes thoroughly enjoyed the parade yesterday. The summer weather certainly added to the atmosphere and provided a perfect backdrop for a very well organised event. On the note of similar events for other patron saints, it’s been tried over the years, but unfortunately never seemed to be particularly successful. In my opinion, the emblem of Ireland, the harp is recognised throughout the world in bars and restaurant. There is always an Irish pub or bar in every city, town, village or backwater from Dublin to Peking and in between. So when a St Patrick’s day parade is organised you can bet that the crowd of revellers will be made up of every nationality under the sun. Irish charm and endeavour always result in a fun filled day out for all. I’m not sure that you could bring 10,000 English people for a St Georges or Scottish folk for St Andrews or a Welsh crowd for St David’s parade. It would be nice to see that take place, but I don’t think it would be feasible from a financial point of view. And of course there are also all the other patron saints from Spain, Germany, Denmark etc etc.
