Thank you everybody, particularly for the useful replies. We have now found a lovely lady, through this forum, who lives locally and will do our ironing at an hourly rate, which is ideal for our circumstances.

I feel for this gentleman, you dont realise the things you need help with until you reach a certain age
I am not a youngster myself but luckily still active enough to do most things
But ironing is one thing i have never found the need to do here in spain
If you wash your clothes and hang up immediately they normally dont crease, if you pull at the garment while wet a few times at the collar and sleeves, if it is a shirt, or pull trouse legs a few times , you can reduce creasing
I never iron anything, the only time i ironed a shirt was for christmas and the new year , otherwise the iron is redundant
Besides most materials now are creaseproof
I hope that helps the gentleman in question and might help reduce his ironing costs
