Is there a problem with the postal service?

Was just wondering if there is a nationwide problem with the postal service as i have been waiting for months for important documents (not just to my address) which never arrive. Annoyingly, the bills always make their way here ok.

Is anyone else having problems?

Have found the postal service to be very efficient up until the start of summer.

I've recently had problems trying to get my insurance documents from Linea Direct. They had to send them to me 3 times before I received them....and then it was like buses, 3 came within 2 days of each other. The first had been posted in August and I didn't receive it until the end of September. I think they use the mule train from Madrid!!!!

I think when the postman goes on holiday (especially August) nobody takes up his route.
Our mail comes pretty regularly but we have had problems in August and then, beginning of September, loads of mail and then no problems after that.
May all depend on when your postie has his few weeks up in the mountains.

Same for us in Torrevieja, you're not alone. We are also awaiting an important letter from the tax office. Believe it or not I've tried to help 3 post people in the past week or two who I've seen looking lost, it must be a nightmare job

That's why we pay for a post box in the Correos office.

I have reported on here before that the post office accumulate mail especially in the summer until they have enough to deliver to your address. A couple of years ago I was waiting for some important documents from a bank which did not arrive. The normal delivery time is about 3 days but I waited about 2 weeks. I had to ask the bank to send them again. I realised that I had not received any mail for about 3 weeks so I went down to the Correos in Quesada with a note in Spanish and asked for the boss. He came out, read my note and went back inside the office. A few minutes later he came out with 8 letters for my address including the original documents from my bank.
He said that they only came that morning. Really !
I do not know whether they are legally allowed to accumulate mail but they definitely do. It also happened last summer.

No, ive enquired about the apparant lack of postal delivery, the consensus of the many people ive asked who already live here is the spanish postal service is dismal, unreliable and ineffective. Every time ive asked for documents by email, the general response is to the effect of "we send all documents by email, if we put them in the post you'll probably not get them this year"

Correo express sent me an email two days ago saying they would deliver a parcel between 10:45 and 13:00
Received a phone call at 18:32 telling me they couldn’t deliver as we were out !!!!
After staying all day too !!!
Bloody frustrating

Always has been an irratic service. I used to have a post box in the Correos, but got so fed up and frustrated that they would send mail back to the sender saying undeliverable!!!!! Hit and miss if it arrives to the house. As far as I am aware it’s probably about 90% hit

Correos postman is an absolute joke.....we were waiting for an Amazon delivery by them, this morning he/she rang the doorbell and immediately got back on his bike and rode off.......what a rubbish service.
Going down to their office to file a complaint on Monday.
I get their laid back attitude but this is just arrogance!
