It's not over

It's not over

Postby Glassfull » Wed Jan 19, 2022 10:09 am

I know that some of you might flinch, because it's the biased, lefty BBC that reported this
and not, the ever so accurate Daily Mail but,

I think Glassful is simply saying that we are led to believe that Covid19 has reached its peak in some countries and that Omicron is a less virulent variant of it BUT we must be on guard, omicron infected people are still being hospitalised. It’s not over yet so we mustn’t become complacent.

Can't disagree with that.
Start to live with it, but of course remain vigilant and keep basic measures in place.

Does anyone think this virus will come to an end? Personally I think it will be like flu and regular booster habs required.

Yes, likely to be with us forever, or so the experts believe.
However with high vaccination rates and several mutations weakening it, they expect it to become similar to the flu, whereby some will still die, some end up in hospital and many will catch it each year but only in a mild manageable form. Also like flu there may be annual vaccines available for the more vulnerable, but likely to become optional like the flu one.

Several countries are already moving towards a learn to live with it strategy.

Regardless of its dangers, there must come a point were we do need to just get on with it.

This is a global pandemic and so many other countries haven’t the resources and cannot vaccinate their people. So Covid is far from gone

Wonder how many people have now died of suicide due to depression and anxiety
How many have died of domestic violence due to being locked indoors
How many have died of cancer and other illnesses due to not being able to get seen by GP"s

I think we all now know how to social distance.... We need to learn to live with this.
It's not going away
It's like trying to put an end to the common cold or flu

Yes, we will have to live with it.

But at present it is putting hospitals under even more strain than normal... we need everyone to get vaccinated to drive the hospital cases down now THEN we can start to live with it.
But at present those who don't want to get vaccinated are the ones that are delaying normality.

Get vaccinated.
