La Marina ?

La Marina ?

Postby JohnES » Sat Apr 27, 2024 12:06 pm

In last week's Euro Weekly News there was a special feature describing some of the coastal resorts along the Costa Blanca South.
One of these was about La Marina, between Guadamar and Santa Pola. (Page 6 of the Property Special feature).
The first problem was that it was suggesting that La Marina village and La Marina urbanisation were part of the same town.
This is incorrect because La Marina urbanisation is part of San Fulgencio which is a bit further inland.
But I was mainly intrigued by the photograph which showed a small port with one or two yachts in it.
When we first came to Spain we stayed in a villa in the La Marina urbanisation and used to go down to the seafront in the evening.
We went under the La Marina bypass, down to the town where the traffic lights are and straight across down to the seafront.
The only thing down there was a car park in the dunes. When you looked north and South from the shore all you could see was miles of seashore but no port. Did we miss the port or is this a picture of another place ? If you still have your copy of last week's EWN do you recognise the port in the picture ?

I read the same article. What a load of tripe..totally ill-informed.
Obviously written by someone who had never been there or probably the dreaded AI!

You mentioning the airport triggered a memory that the San Javier airport stopped being a commercial airport several years ago.
It is a pity that nobody recognises the port as it looks a nice little place to visit.
I think that it calls for an e-mail to the paper.
