Need advice for friend who is staying at The La Zenia hotel...he needs to be in Marbella Friday 20 September for a wedding....what would be the best way to travel there ?

Train, coach or taxi !

Its a 4.5 hour drive so quite doable if he can hire a car and drive. Otherwise its flying Alicante to Barcelona then Barcelona to Malaga which will take a lot longer and cost a lot more.

You do not have to go via Barcelona you can change at Ovido

Very comfortable bus from Mercia about Euros 40, to 50 to Marbella About 7hrs journey

Also a bus option from Alicante also, although i'd echo the advice above, I'd just drive it. Only about 4 hours and quite a pleasant drive too. Hire cars in advance are, what, €4 a day?!
