Can someone tell me in a nutshell what the inheritance tax rules are in Spain. I have a fiancé and my property Is in my name as Is my bank account. Perhaps I should be looking at adding her to the title deeds!

I can also recommend Pellicer Heredia.
At a bereavement time I found them so helpful and they have done a great job with the inheritance tax.

Hi Ron
Do you have a Spanish will ? If anything happens to you who will inherit your property ? If this was your fiance you could add her to the deeds as she would be the new owner, she would then only be liable to IT on your half of the property as opposed to the whole lot if she wasn't on the deeds....but then conversely if anything happened to your fiance you would be liable to IT on her half of the property.
As for the actual amount you would pay, I cant remember the actual percentage but residents in the Valencian community have a €100,000 allowance, when I went through this non residents were treat differently to residents and paid much more, the EU ruled this illegal and now non residents are taxed the same, my solicitor reclaimed this back for me, app €1400 on an apartment worth app €75,000.
There is lots of info on Spanish IT if you google it.
