Hi folks. We have a leak coming from our roof into our bathroom due to the heavy rain.
Recommendations please for who to contact to repair roof, thanks.

My parents had exactly the same, roof to bathroom. Insurance said they wouldn't cover it as it's up to us to maintain the roof. I checked with our insurance company and they said that's correct. We argued with the insurance company and they sent an assessor out, they said we had 4 cracked roof tiles, insurance still wouldnt pay so the assessor was a roof repair man and he did it, think we were done as it cost 500 euros! Firstly id check with your insurance company just in case they will cover it. They said they'd pay for repairing the ceiling 60 euros! That's still ongoing.

We had one too but to be perfectly honest, how often does it rain that heavily?, We are just going to fill the hole with filler and repaint until next time. This will only cost a few euros.

Seems to me it’s common for spanish built houses to leak
We’ve had a leak from our solarium roof that’s blown a bathroom light fitting
In our courtyard the drain can’t handle the rain so we spent hours mopping up where it came into the house

Yes, we now have two damp patches on the bedroom ceiling, and water has been running down the galleria wall from the low end of the clear ceiling panel. In was going to see if we could get Liberty Seguros insurance to pay out, but it sounds unlikely reading here - although weve only owned the place 7 months, so they can hardly argue its lack of maintenance by us.

Im still going to see if I can get a new satellite dish out them, ours, along with the fixing pole, was ripped off and sent across the roofs by the winds about 2 AM Saturday. Im pretty sure im covered.

I’ve found they’ll cover stuff like the dish but a leaky roof they look at as a maintenance problem, ie your problem
We tried to claim for earthquake damage, ie broken kitchen tiles and were told we had to claim from a specific govt fund which would involve sixth months of waiting and reams of paperwork to submit
Did it ourselves with a little help from my friends

I think the problem with the roofs is not the volume of water, but the sheer force of it being driven along by 90 mph gusts, at that sort of force it will drive water uphill and under tiles. Thats why english homes have roofing felt on. So its not a maintenance problem, no amount of maintenance will stop water penetration in that sort of circumstances.

A small % of your insurance payment goes into a government fund for things like floods etc,
