I have friends who live there. The place is nice, but nothing to do, shopping, bars, restaurants, etc. Visit my mates who are moving, cos it's too far away from anywhere, you need transport! I live I Quesada and defo wouldn't live in Monte, sorry, Just my thoughts!
Cheers AL

Lots of people don`t live near shopping, bars and restaurants and are quite happy, and most take note of this when buying property. My sister - in law lived there for many years and was very happy, and she loved how quiet it was.
But yes, you do need transport, so buying a car is a good idea if not essential.
Bistro Alex used to be a good little bar but has now closed, not sure about Montys because I`ve not been there for a while. This link may be of some use.

We bought in Montebello in July and moved into the house on Oct. It is quiet but we love it. It is a very well kept Urbanization. The president is a hands on man and has the well being of the Urbanization at heart as does his wife. A lot of the houses are just holiday homes but the people who live here all year round are lovely. Monty’s closed down a long time ago but it is reopening on 1st March under a new owner who seems to have done an amazing job. A huge amount of capital has been invested in the refurbishment of the building. It is called Silverstones Bar and Bistro. There is also a cafe/bar just as you come to the entrance of Montebello and they have entertainment and events on sometimes. I’m sure you will be very happy in this lovely urbanization.

And I`m sure you`ll make them very welcome.
My sister in law used to live at Calle Mimosa, and on our frequent visits to her, we noticed how friendly her neighbours were. In fact we had a many a cold beer in one or another of their front gardens. My sister in law didn`t drink but that didn`t stop us.
Sadly she became very ill and had to go back to the UK and unfortunately has passed away since. But she loved it there.
