Moving to Quesada - Any ideas on whereabouts to live?

Postby maggie2b » Sun Oct 19, 2014 5:19 pm

My husband and I(we are not royalty) are looking to buy a house or villa in the Quesada area. We are looking to move permanently. We are looking for an area not hilly near to shopping and things to do. We would like to be with ex pats although are looking to learn Spanish to integrate. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks Chris E

Hi Maggie2b,
:text-welcomewave:
Welcome to the forum. Thank you for joining. Hope you get lots of helpful advice on here.

I have moved you question into its own topic as it may get lost in another topic and go unanswered.

Have you spent any time in Quesada already? The advice these days seems to be to rent in a few different areas first to get an idea of living in Quesada. Different seasons are good too, to see what you think of the weather in Summer and Winter. Luckily Quesada is an 'all year round' place to live (shops/ bars restaurants stay open all year), unlike some of the seaside areas of Spain but it's good to get a feel of what it's like to actually live full time there.

The Golf course area is generally pretty hilly but there are quite a few areas where it's quite flat including the Dona Pepa area. I'm sure you will get some good advice and help from the members on the forum.

There is a link to a topic here that may be interesting for you, if you haven't seen it already:

Hi there, my friend has her 2 bed bungalow for sale in Pueblo Bravo. It is a gated community with a mixture of residential nationalities, English, German, Spanish etc.
The area there is quite flat with Doña Pepe and Lo Maribu close by.
If you are interested I can let you have her number.

Come to Benijofar (nexr door to Quesada) The houses on the the development just outside of the main village are on a gentle slope for the most part, the bars and restaurants and shops, market are all walkable and we have a great police force, town hall and health centre

Hi, I have just read your item regarding we're is the best area to live in Quesada, my wife and I live in Doña Pepa 1 which is considered to be the best post code of the area, it is the flattest area, and is a lovely laid out area and very popular for anyone living permanently herg in walking distance of bars and restaurants also supermarket and Banks, depending on what you a looking for I thought that you may not mind me telling you that we have just in the past 2days placed our property on the market for sale with Villas Amarillas in quesada, our property is a lovely 2 bedroom 2 bathroomed property on a 410sq mtr plot with a good sized swimming pool and driveway, and is in a very nice part, if you are interested in looking at the property the Ref no with Villas Amarillas is VA3356, I hope you don't mind me contacting youut thought it could be what you may possibly be looking for, anyway best of look with your interest in the area,

Rent first do not rush into it Spain you may think is everyone's dream for retirement but it also has
Pitfalls as we have seen in our community we have had a villa since new near the star roundabout and have seen so many villa change hands while we have had our villa .
Because of ill health, money problem, and even death.
I hope this is help.
We have had our villa16 years and still use it for a holiday home.
But we have had plenty of new neighbour who have bought high(price) and would have to sell at a loss.
And believe me a lot would sell if they could(good time to buy)
Regards good luck

The best way, my wife and I have found, is to not set your sights too high for living here. It is'nt Britain and things take longer to do. The food, drink and everyday living can be very cheap here, and the weather is fantastic!..that's the reason you move here in the first place..and having a "best post code??..we kind of left all that hierarchy back in Britain!..all of Quesada is great to live we feel!
