New Covid vaccine regs

New Covid vaccine regs

Postby Jonnno » Thu Jan 20, 2022 10:48 pm

Anyone know how the new covid regs will work? It seems the certificate is now only valid for 9 months. Is that from the date of 1st 2nd or booster date?
Will we be called in for more jabs?
Thanks

I think it's from the date you had your second jab, if that is more than 9 months ago then you need to get the booster to ensure you can enter Spain

The EU green passport (I know, it's not green and it's not a passport) or EU covid vaccination certificate is valid for a period of 9 months after receiving the primary course.
That is, 9 months after having your 2nd vaccine if the course is for 2 vaccines, or 9 months after having your 1st vaccine if the course is a single dose such as Janssen.

After that period, you have to have a booster vaccine so your certificate will now show 3/3 or 2/2 if Janssen and will then be valid for a further 9 months. Of course, if you've had the booster before the 9 months is up then it will depend on future legislation, not yet decided, if any more boosters are required.

UK NHS App is different and the pass is only valid for 30 days and you have to log in again to renew it. It will only renew for 6 months since the 2nd jab but the time period will start again once you've had the booster.

The NHS covid pass is recognised by all EU countries as equivalent to the EU covid vaccine certificate.
Information between EU and non-EU countries is not shared but you can verify your vaccine status with the European Digital Covid Certificate gateway which will give non-EU citizens a EU certificate if the vaccines you have had are approved by the WHO. This certificate is to avoid the problems some non-EU citizens have had with the app not being able to read the QR code.

The EU Covid Certificate gateway now recognises the certificates from 45 non-EU countries as well as those from EU members.

From the EU Schengen site. It is going to be a bit like the 90/180 except this time you have to count back 270days.

First vaccinated Jan 2021, 2nd in April 2021, booster October 2021. Does this mean I'm considered unvaccinnated from July 2022?
This will cause huge queues at airports.
