New rules when travelling to England.

I have had problems with the testing procedure since day 1. The detail of how to do it always seems unpractical. For example the main test supplier WAS randox. I assumed you just posted test result in a post box but no you had to take to one of a number of special post boxes about 20 miles apart and not on public transport routes.
How do you actually do the new test? Do you have to notify anybody of the results?

It looks to me from reading the 4th October regs that it is just a prebooked day 2 Antigen test you need and your locator form.

Grant Shapps

In this article:
Grant Shapps
British politician (born 1968)
Grant Shapps has said the government is "working as quickly as possible" to scrap PCR tests for fully vaccinated international travellers.
The government recently announced its intention for people who have had both doses of a coronavirus vaccine to be able to use a cheaper lateral flow test instead.
The transport secretary told MPs he does not yet have an exact date for the removal of PCR testing, but stressed the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) is "aware" of October half-term when families will be planning to go on holiday.

"It's clear the range of measures I introduced this week and last week are going to make a big difference and people will be able to travel much more freely. Part of that is the removal of the PCR test on day two and replacing it with a much simpler lateral flow test," Mr Shapps said.
"They (DHSC) are aware of half term and are working closely with the private-sector providers to ensure we can do this as quickly as possible."

Sorry jpeg but nowhere in this article does it say that the date has been put back. I’ve scoured all major news services and there is absolutely nothing about this on any major newsfeed. Is it possibly another one from scaremongering.com?

All very clear for those travelling on and from 4th October then!! Very unfair on both travellers and carriers. I don't know how there could be a shortage of Antigen tests. Baffled.
This is an abridged version of what is published on the Gov.uk site as guidance for travellers from 4th October from 4.00am. Note it says
Travel from the rest of the world if you are fully vaccinated
From 4am Monday 4 October, you will qualify as fully vaccinated if you are vaccinated either:
under an approved vaccination programme in the UK, Europe, USA or UK vaccine programme overseas
You must have had a complete course of an approved vaccine at least 14 days before you arrive in England.
If you qualify as fully vaccinated you will have to:
book and pay for a day 2 COVID-19 test – to be taken after arrival in England
complete your passenger locator form – any time in the 48 hours before you arrive in England
take a COVID-19 test on or before day 2 after you arrive in England
Under the new rules, you will not need to:
take a pre-departure test
take a day 8 COVID-19 test
quarantine at home or in the place you are staying for 10 days after you arrive in England
You must be able to prove that you have been fully vaccinated (plus 14 days) with a document (digital or paper-based) from a national or state-level public health body that includes, as a minimum:
forename and surname(s)
date of birth
vaccine brand and manufacturer
date of vaccination for every dose
country or territory of vaccination and/or certificate issuer
