I have noticed that we are now subjected to the following regulatory charges...
REGULATORY CHARGES
Fixed funding for subsidised rate (25/01/2023-31/01/2023) 6 days x 0,036718 €/day 0,22 €
Fixed funding for subsidised rate (31/01/2023-22/02/2023) 22 days x 0,038455 €/day 0,85 €
Limit for gas price RDL 10/2022 (1) 268 kWh x -0,000997 €/kWh -0,27 €
Adjustment mechanism System Op. RDL 10/2022 (1) 268 kWh x 0,000719 €/kWh 0,19 €
Electricity tax (*) 0,5% s/70,92 € 0,35 €

EDIT I´ve just had another look at my bill and my usage ratio of cheap to peak is currently 2 to 1. Which means that my average tarrif is 0.19 Kwh. What´s the best stable tarrif available at the moment? Maybe time to move to Otopus stable plan at 0.175 Kwh.

This is why I said do they just stick their finger in the air and guess? Your peak rate is 29.8 cents and ours is 19.91 cents. Your cheap rate is 13.9 cents and our cheap rate is 8 cents.

Using half and half our median rate is around 11 cents per kWh. The regulatory charges are the same and we end up 8 cents credit on the gas price system like you.

They also tell me that, in the last year which included the hot summer and this last winter, my average monthly bill has been €57.23. I can live with that.

I think that you may be right!

I've just checked my tarrif over the last 5 years and it looks like I've fallen out of a fixed tarrif in 2022

2019: 18 cents peak rate : 8 cents cheap rate
2020: 18 cents peak rate : 8 cents cheap rate
2021: 18 cents peak rate : 8 cents cheap rate
2022: 27 cents peak rate : 13 cents cheap rate
2023: 29 cents peak rate : 14 cents cheap rate

I think it may be time to look around for a new fixed rate deal. The only thing that's stopping me are the horror stories about the gas surcharge being added to the bills. Is this still happening?

It would be interesting to know if anyone else has fallen out of their fixed rate tarrif without being notified.

I use Octopus for my property in the UK. Their customer service is exceptional. I contacted them when they started marketing in earnest in Spain last year. The only downside for me was that, at that time, they would only accept a Spanish bank account (i.e. not Wise). I will switch to them almost irrespective of the tariff as soon as they fix that issue purely based on their customer service and green credentials.

Is this with Iberdrola? Did you have to negotiate this rate at the shop or just change online?

I'm looking to switch to Octopus next month unless I can negotiate a better fixed rate with Iberdrola. Octopus rate is currently 17 cents at all times but the fixed contract is only for 12 months. I dont really want to keep swapping suppliers each year for the best rates.

I was quite happy with my 8 hour fixed rate plan with Iberdrola but the charges are now rising constantly, this months tarrif has just gone up again!
