Opinions please

When I first bought my place in 2005, I had two air con units installed, but decided to have the outside ones put on the rooftop solarium. I only did this as I find them an eyesore, but I notice that all of neighbours have them on the front/back of their houses.

I renewed them a few weeks back and had an extra one installed in the spare back bedroom and the outside unit is fitted to the outside wall backing onto that bedroom.

I should mention that I only come out here once a year for a max of four weeks and I live alone, so the back bedroom in never used. I’m a really quiet and respectful neighbour.

Anyway, just sitting here at 9.40pm (no air con on at all), and the Spanish lady that backs onto me has just called me out to say that she’s not happy with the position of the outside unit as it’ll blow heat into her house and will be noisy. She also lives alone and doesn’t sleep in the back bedroom.

I apologised and reminded her that it’ll probably never be used, but she’s insisting on it being moved. I have to put up with her dog barking and bird tweeting all day, and I’ve never said a word. Her previous neighbours had her denounced for that reason.

Would you get the unit moved?

Tell her you'll have it moved if she pays for it. If she doesn't it stays put.

Remind her that you know about the previous denunciation for noise issues.

If she was to denounce you I don't think she would get much support from the authorities when you are only there for 4 weeks of the year and then unlikely to use that bedroom anyway.

If she does say that,tell her you’re not too keen looking at her,but just put up with it.

I don't really understand the question.

Is she asking you to do her a favour and move the aircon unit ?
Presumably it's not illegal in Spain to position the unit where it is ?
What's in it for you ? and
What's going to happen if you don't do it ?

They normally install the compressor as close to the aircon as they can, less expense I suppose. Don't think the woman's got a leg to stand on. It's on his property. She just sounds an old moaning witch.
