PASSPORT STAMPED AT ALICANTE

When I came through Alicante airport yesterday on my way to UK, my passport was stamped even though I was holding my TIE card with my passport. The guy doing the stamping just shrugged when I protested. Am I right in thinking it shouldn’t have been stamped? Does it matter?

This has been brought up before. The answer is it doesn't matter. Treat it as a souvenir because, as a resident, it won't matter.

The Spanish gov have stated the stamp is null and void if you hold proof of residency.

Mine wasn't stamped on the way out of Spain, but it was on the way back yesterday. Like Marcliff says, it doesn't matter apart from filling up blank pages on your passport if they keep doing it, which could be a pain if it results in needing a new passport before the 10 years is up.
