Postby Terri » Mon Jan 14, 2019 12:57 pm

Hi all, wonder if anyone can help us we have a “Fair” pellet burner
Had it all serviced by professional beginning of December was working fine but this last week it has been burning for about a hour or so then it just goes out the pellets still drop but there is no flames or any heat but the outside door casing is red hot ! Please is there any one who can help us or offer advice, we have been back to the shop but they weren’t much help we have already thoroughly cleaned out where the pellets are and I have hoovered it and re loaded with new grade A pellets this has not solved the problem ? Any advice and help would be appreciated thank you kind regards Terri

Saw this online, if you cant hear fan noise . . may help . . . .
When the stove arrives at operating temperature after start up, the convection blower should come on automatically. A draft can be felt at the heat exchanger outlets above the door, and the noise of the fan should be heard. Low draft may mean that the blower needs a clean, or that the intake is blocked. A blower which is faulty will probably allow the stove to get too hot, and then shut down.

I think this subject has been discussed on the Costa Blanca forum about a year or so ago, and one of the things mentioned about the pellet burners shutting down was the lack of air flow, might be worthwhilehaving a look on that forum.

Last few weeks our pellet supplier ran out of our regular 100% pine pellets, tried their alternative unknown no labelled bags. Now we have a problem on ignition. Pine pellets back in stock, emptied the alternative out of the fire and replaced with pine, stove now fine. Will try 2:1 just to use 5 bags up. Hope this helps anyone having trouble.
